Niterói, Brasil! Um caminho incomparável! (Niteroi, Brazil! An incomparable path!).

Quem estiver visitando o Rio de Janeiro, atravesse os 13km da Baía da Guanabara para passar pelo menos uma tarde na cidade vizinha de Niterói, única do Brasil fundada por um índio, Arariboia em 1573, e a segunda a possuir mais obras do nosso  arquiteto maior, só perdendo para a capital Brasilia.
Pegue a barca e estas dicas e desembarque nesta cidade de 500.000 habitantes, e conheça este caminho de 3km que poderá ser feito a pé ou de bicicleta, se deslumbrando com as incomparáveis obras de Niemeyer que se confundem com a beleza natural da orla das duas cidades:

1. COMO CHEGAR:
Na Praça XV, no centro do Rio de Janeiro, no Terminal das Barcas, compre sua passagem e embarque na primeira barca com destino ao centro de Niterói, que só o percurso de 20 minutos com vista maravilhosa para todos os lados em transporte confortável e com banheiros, e só em não ter o stress do trânsito da ponte Rio-Niterói já compensa. As saídas são de 20 em 20 minutos em dias úteis e de 30 em 30 nos finais de semana e feriados. Bicicletas são benvindas.

2. CAMINHO NIEMEYER:
Ainda na barca na chegada à Niterói ao lado esquerdo no final do Terminal de Ônibus, você já vai avistar no inicio do caminho o TEATRO POPULAR, o MEMORIAL ROBERTO SILVEIRA, a FUNDAÇÃO OSCAR NIEMEYER, e a construção da CAPELA SÃO JOÃO PAULO II, todas obras com a marca registrada de Oscar  Niemeyer (1907-2012), renomado arquiteto brasileiro que quando na infância fazia no ar com o dedo seus desenhos imaginários e que até o final dos seus 104 anos  pode imortalizá-los nas mais  diversas formas arredondadas como se flutuassem no ar. O local é bonito, mas ainda está inacabado, se quiser conferir de perto vá somente durante o dia, pois o prédio de informações aos turistas com filmes e folhetos explicativos só fica aberto das 9h às 18h. Um pouco mais em frente, vai estar a PRAÇA JK, com as esculturas de Niemeyer e do ex-presidente Juscelino Kubitschek (1902-1976) parecendo discutir projetos da então capital Brasilia, onde estão a maioria das suas obras. Continue no caminho, lembrando que por estar em cidade grande esteja sempre atento e evite locais vazios. Seguindo em frente, no bairro de São Domingos você vai encontrar o imperdível RESERVA CULTURAL (Av. Visconde do Rio Branco,880), com 5 salas de cinema, galeria de arte, livraria, e fazendo parte do maravilhoso espaço gastronómico o Reserva Bistrô, a Mística Pizza e o Bizu Bizu Café. Estacionamento pago.
Ao lado fica o CENTRO PETROBRAS DE CINEMA ainda em construção, neste prédio todo preto em formato de rolo de filme, que foi projetado para ser o maior Museu Cinematográfico do Brasil. Se ainda tiver pique para andar os 2km restantes do caminho, tenha certeza que se conseguir, terá a sensação de ter chegado ao final do arco-íris e encontrado o seu desejado pote de ouro, pois o indescritível    MAC - MUSEU DE ARTE CONTEMPORÂNEA,  (Mirante da Boa Viagem), obra prima de Niemeyer de 1996, cujas fotos estão espalhadas pelo mundo afora, num cenário inesquecível flutuando sobre a água emoldurado pelo Pão de Açucar. Niterói! Não perca este caminho!

If you are visiting Rio de Janeiro just cross the  13km of the Guanabara Bay, to spend at least one afternoon in the neighbor city of Niterói, the only one in Brazil which was founded by an Indian, Arariboia in 1573, and it's also the second city to hold more buildings projected by our most famous architect Niemeyer, losing only for Brasilia, Brazil's capital.
Take a boat and follow those tips in this city of 500.000 inhabitants,  walking or pedaling to complete the 3km way full of the incomparable
Niemeyer's buildings, mixed with the nature's beauty from the 2 cities shores:

1. HOW TO ARRIVE:
In the Boat's Station (TERMINAL DAS BARCAS) located in the  Praça XV square in Rio de Janeiro's downtown, buy your ticket to Niteroi's downtown (centro de Niterói). The 20 minutes ride with wonderful views without the traffic's stress of the Rio-Nterói bridge, inside the comfortable boats with bathroons, worth a trip. The boat leaves each 20 minutes on work days, and each 30 minutes on Sundays and Holidays. Bicyyou'llre welcomed. 

2. NIEMEYER'S WAY:
Yet inside the boat, when arriving in Niterói in your left side in the end of the Bus Station, you'll see  where the way starts with the 3 buildings  POPULAR THEATER, ROBERTO SILVEIRA MEMORIAL, OSCAR NIEMEYER FOUNDATION, and the construction of the CHAPEL OF SAINT PAUL the Second, all of them with the trademark of Oscar Niemeyer (1907-2012), Brazil most celebrated architect, who when was a little child used to draw with his finger imaginary drawers in the air, and later he was the first that made waves in the thirtieths, working hardly until his last days with 104-years-old. The place is beautiful but unfinished, so, if you'll visit, go there during the day, when the Tourist Informatiin building is opened showing videos of the city. Pamphlets and maps are available. Open daily 9am to 6pm. A little far you'll see the square PRAÇA JK, with the sculptures of Niemeyer and Brazil's former president Juscelino Kubitschek (1902-1976), like they are talking maybe about Brasilia's new projects. Keep going, and remind yourself that you are in a big city, so be careful and avoid empty streets to walk on. Next stop is the amazing RESERVA CULTURAL in São Domingos borough, with 5 movie theaters, an art gallery, a bookstore, and a wonderful gastronomic place with the Reserva Bistrô restaurant, Mistica Pizza, and Bizu Bizu Cafe. Paid parking lot. Beside that is PETROBRAS CINEMA CENTER, a big black building similar a roll of film, which was projected to be the biggest Cinematography Museum in Brazil, but still unfinished. If you aren't tired yet to walk or pedal 2km more, it really worth, because in the last stop you'll be like arriving  in the end of the rainbow to find a pot of gold when you face to the indescribable beauty of the CONTEMPORARY ART MUSEUM - MAC, the  Niemeyer's masterpiece of 1996, located in an unforgettable scenery,  similar to a spaceship floating over the waters framed by Rio de Janeiro's Sugar Loaf. Always showing modern artworks exhibitions from well-known artists. A good Bistrô restaurant  is available. Opened Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm. Free on Wednesdays.

Viña del Mar, Chile! A "Cidade Jardim" na Costa do Pacífico! (Viña del Mar, Chile! The "Garden City" in the Pacific Coast!).

Visitando a capital Santiago, não deixe de passar pelo menos uma tarde em Viña del Mar, que já foi terra de vinhedos e hoje é o balneário mais importante do Chile. Com 300.000 habitantes, foi fundada em 1874 por Jose Francisco Vergara.  Anote estas dicas e se encante com a beleza desta que é conhecida como "Ciudad Jardín" por suas áreas verdes, e lógico, lindos jardins:

1. COMO CHEGAR:
Distante 90 minutos de Santiago, agências de turismo como a TURIS TOUR, SOMOS TOUR ou TURISTIK, fazem este passeio incluindo a cidade vizinha de VALPARAISO, podendo ser agendado no seu hotel. No caminho para Viña del Mar, você vai perder o fôlego com a beleza memorável das vinicolas como "Concha y Toro" de 1883, emoldurada pelas cordilheiras, neste pais em que a diversidade do clima e solo deram origem à rica produção de excelentes vinhos. Lembre-se que Viña del Mar é banhada pelas águas geladas do sul do Pacifico, e o frio do  fenômeno maritimo da  neblina matinal, só vai dar trégua quando o sol aparecer por volta do meio-dia. Então, por favor, mesmo no verão leve um casaco.

2. O QUE FAZER:
Faça sua "selfie" no cartão postal da cidade RELOJ DE FLORES (no final da Av. Espanha), legado da Copa do Mundo de 1962, quando Viña del Mar foi uma das cidades que sediaram os jogos. Infelizmente a Seleção Brasileira tirou a alegria e a taça dos chilenos, mas a beleza do "Relógio de Flores" continua até hoje. Se o frio permitir, passeie pelas orlas das  praias de CALETA ALBARCA ou MIRAMAR, ou sente em um aconchegante quiosque para tomar um café com as deliciosas empanadas chilenas.  Visite o belo CASINO MUNICIPAL DE VIÑA DEL MAR, o mais antigo do Chile, inaugurado em 1930, com 1200 máquinas caça níqueis, aguardando por sua aposta.

3. ONDE COMER:
O RESTAURANTE FELLINI (3 Norte # 88), com ótimas massas, carne ou frutos do mar, é um dos tantos entre muitas opções na área do casino, nesta cidade que concentra o maior número de restaurantes por metro quadrado. É só escolher, pois têm para todos os gostos e bolsos.

4. FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE LA CANCIÓN DE  VIÑA DEL MAR:
A banda sueca de hard rock "Europe", já está confirmada para o mais importante festival musical da América Latina que acontecerá entre 20 e 25 de fevereiro, 2018, no "Anfiteatro de La Quinta Vergara", uma das maiores áreas verdes da cidade. Se estiver por lá nesta data, apareça!

Viña del Mar! Um jardim no Pacifico!

When visiting the capital Santiago, spend at least one afternoon in the city of Viña del Mar, which was vineyards land in the past, and nowadays is the most important beach place in Chile. With 300.000 inhabitants, was founded in 1874 by Jose Francisco Vergara. Take a note of those tips, to be enchanted with this city's beauty, also known  as "Garden City " (Ciudad  Jardin),  because of its green areas, and of course, gorgeous gardens:

1. HOW TO ARRIVE:
Distant 90 minutes from Santiago, it's easy to schedule this tour in your own hotel with tourism agencies like TURIS TOUR, SOMOS TOUR or TURISTIK, they use to do a combo with the neighbor city of VALPARAISO. In the way to Viña del Mar the breathtaking view of the vineyards framed by Andes like the traditional  Concha y Toro from 1883, is memorable in a country that climates and soils diversity is the origin of its wines wealthy. Remember that Viña del Mar is located on the banks of the Pacific's south freeze waters, and  the weather use to be cold with a kind of fog, warming up only around noon when the sun bursts into the sky. So, even in the summertime take your coat.

2. WHAT TO DO:
Make your "selfie" in the RELOJ DE FLORES  (Garden Clock), the city's postcard located in the end of Espanha Avenue.
This clock was made for  the 1962 World Cup, when Viña del Mar was one of the Chilean's cities wich housed the games. Unfortunately the Brazilian's team took the happiness and the cup from the Chilean's team, but the pretty clock still working until now. If the cold temperature allows, strolling by the sidewalks of ALABARCA or MIRAMAR beaches, or take a seat in one of the cozy kiosks to have a coffee and a delicious Chilean "empanadas". Visit the beautiful VIÑA DEL MAR MUNICIPAL CASINO, Chile's oldest casino, opened in 1930, with 1200 slots machines waiting for your gamble.

3. WHERE TO EAT:
FELLINI RESTAURANT (3 Norte # 88), serving delicious pasta, meat and seafood, is one of the many options in the casino's area, in a city full of restaurants in each square meter. You just need to choose each one that will fit better for your taste and pocket.

4. VIÑA DEL MAR INTERNATIONAL SONG FESTIVAL:
The largest music festival in Latin America that has been held annualy, this year is schedule to happen on February/2018 between 20th and 25th, in the Vergara Theater, one of the biggest green area in the city. This year the Swedish's hard rock band "Europe" is already confirmed.

Viña del Mar! A garden in the Pacific!

Granada, Espanha! Inesquecível Alhambra! (Granada, Spain! Unforgettable Alhambra!).

A espetacular Granada com 235.000 habitantes,  distante 429km de Madri e 251km de Sevilha, está localizada no coração de Andaluzia, no Sul da Espanha, emoldurada pela Sierra Nevada.
Anote estas dicas para conhecer a terra natal do poeta espanhol Federico Garcia Lorca (1898-1936) que também abriga a maravilhosa fortaleza de Alhambra:

É obrigatória a visita ao maravilhoso CONJUNTO MONUMENTAL DE LA ALHAMBRA, complexo de fortalezas cercado por belas muralhas e ao PALÁCIO de GENERALIFE com seus belos jardins rico em história, pois  foram o centro do poder muçulmano desde o  século VIII, chegando ao final em 1492 quando derrotados pelos Rei Fernando II de Aragão e a Rainha Isabel de Castela que após esta conquista, os reis católicos modificaram o complexo arquitetónico fazendo de Alhambra um palácio real, que foi declarada pela UNESCO  como Patrimônio Cultural da Humanidade em 1984. De lá você vai avistar ALBACIN com suas casinhas brancas e também o bairro cigano de SACROMONTE. Tudo é de uma beleza infinita!

3. ONDE COMPRAR:
Na praça PLAZA BIB-RAMBLA, próximo a catedral, circule pelo labirinto de ruazinhas, onde fica impossível não levar para casa os souvenirs vendidos nas inúmeras lojinhas.

4. ONDE COMER:
A qualquer hora e principalmente à noite ande pela indescritível Calle Elvira, iluminada pelas luzes de Alhambra, com muitos restaurantes aconchegantes servindo as famosas "tapas" espanholas, e hippies pelo caminho vendendo seus artesanatos.

Alhambra! A oitava maravilha do mundo!

The catholics kings modified the castles set  architectural, and turned  Alhambra a palace of the nobles. In 1984 Alhambra was declared The World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. From there you'll can see the neighborhoods of ALBACIN with the little white houses, and the Gypsies place of  SACROMONTE.  Everything there is an endless beauty.

In the square of PLAZA BIB-RAMBLA near of the cathedral, strolling in the maze of the tiny streets,  where it's impossible don't take home the souvenirs sold at lots of the little stores.

Any time but specially during the evening walking by the enchanted  CALLE ELVIRA street, lit by the Alhambra lights, with hippies selling their handcrafts, where you'll find many cozy restaurants serving the famous Spanish's "tapas" small portions of delicious food.

Alhambra! The Eighth Wonder of the World!

Ilha de O'ahu! Aloha Havaí! (Island of O'ahu! Aloha Hawaii!).

Honolulu com 338.000 habitantes, é a capital  do Havaí, Estados Unidos, com temperaturas variando de 18ºC à 28ºC entre novembro e março, e neste  momento é destino perfeito para fugir do frio gélido do inverno da América do Norte. Localizada na ilha de O'ahu, fundada em 1845, com forte legado dos polinésios, este paraíso é o sonho de consumo de qualquer surfista, pois foi em Waikiki outra região de O'ahu que cresceu o havaiano Duke Paoa  Kahanamoku (1890-1968), conhecido como "O Pai do Surf Internacional", como nadador olímpico ganhou sua primeira medalha de ouro em Estocolmo, Suécia em 1912, e hoje têm seu monumento na praia de Kuhio Beach, Waikiki.

Caminhe pelas ruas de Honolulu cheias de lojas com souveniers locais, lindos shoppings, praças com shows gratuitos de danças havaianas ao som do "ukelele", pequeno violão havaiano, também não deixe de assistir à um concerto gratuito da "The Royal Hawaiian Band", fundada em 1836, com mais de 40 componentes costuma dar mais de 300 concertos ao ano,  se apresentando  gratuitamente no Kapi'olani Park todos os domingos às 14h.

Honolulu with 338.000 inhabitants is the capital  of Hawaii, USA, with temperatures variation between 18ºC and 28ºC from November to March, and right now is a perfect destination to flee from the freezing winter in the North America. Located in the Oahu's island, founded in 1845, with a strong Polynesian influence, is a dream for any surfer, because was in Waikiki, another region of Oahu whose the Hawaiian Duke Paoa Kahanamoku (1890-1968), known as "The Father of International Surfing" was raised, as an Olympic swimmer won his first gold medal in Stockholm, Sweden in 1912, and his sculpture can be visited  in the Kuhio Beach, Waikiki.

Also watch the 40 members of THE ROYAL HAWAIIAN BAND, founded in 1836, with more than 300 concerts a year, you can catch the band free presentations at Kapi'olani Park, every Sunday at 2pm.
