Curitiba, Paraná! Muito lazer com o melhor da gastronomia italiana! (Curitiba, Brazil! Lots of leisure with the best of the Italian gastronomy!).

Para quem curte um friozinho, agora é a época certa para visitar Curitiba a linda capital do Paraná, com 2 milhões de habitantes e muitos atrativos gastronômicos e culturais. Fundada em 1721 com este nome  que na linguagem Guarani significa "grande quantidade de pinheiros",  em alusão as muitas araucárias que enfeitam a região, daonde vêm o  delicioso pinhão, típico alimento da estação de inverno do sul do Brasil.

O belo teatro ÓPERA DE ARAME erguido sobre um lago. As contemporâneas obras do MUSEU OSCAR NIEMEYER, conhecido como Museu do Olho, por ser o formato do prédio. No centro têm o TEATRO GUAÍRA famoso por suas apresentações. Vá até o PARQUE TINGUÍ / MEMORIAL UCRANIANO, inaugurado em 1995, para conhecer a história e costumes deste país, podendo até se adornar com seus  coloridos acessórios tipicos.

3. ONDE COMER:
É uma cidade que dispõe de bons restaurantes, mas a excelente gastronomia italiana reside à 7km do centro, na famosa SANTA FELICIDADE, desde 1878, com dezenas de cantinas, vinícolas e muitas lojas com artesanato local, e no imenso RESTAURANTE MADALOSSO, na agitada Av. Manoel Ribas, vá com fome para dar conta dos muitos "sem parar" rodízio de massas, onde fica impossível fazer dieta.

4. DICA:

If you enjoy cold temperatures, now is a good time to visit Curitiba, the beautiful capital of Paraná state in the south of Brazil, with 2 millions inhabitants and lots of gastronomic and cultural attractives. Founded in 1721, with a name meaning "lots of araucaria pine trees" in South-American Guarany language, because of the many araucarias trees adorning its city, and from those trees come the delicious "pinhão" a tipical fruit seed of the winter season in the south of Brazil.
Take a note of the following tips, and be surprised with this enchanted city:

1. WHERE TO STAY:

2. WHAT TO DO:
Just strolling on the city, and you'll find many things to do, but don't miss to walk on the  BOTANICAL GARDEN (Jardim Botânico), the city's postcard with amazing geometrical gardens, several spread sculptures, and a metal and glass stove housing 50 species of plants. Go to the  awesome ÓPERA DE ARAME theatre built on a lake's surface. The contemporary art in the OSCAR NIEMEYER MUSEUM knows as Eye Museum because of the building's shape worth a visit. In downtown you'll find the GUAÍRA THEATRE famous for its presentations. In TINGUÍ PARK / UKRAINIAN MEMORIAL, inaugurated in 1995, you will learn  more about the tradition and culture of this country. and there also you  can adorn yourself with their colorful tipical accessories.

3. WHERE TO EAT:
The city houses good restaurants, but the excellent Italian gastronomy is located 7km far from downtown, in the famous SANTA FELICIDADE place, since 1878, with many Italian's canteens like the huge MADALOSSO serving the non-stopping all-you-can-eat pastas, where is impossible to do a diet.
There are also many local craft stores and winerys for the wine lovers.

4. TIP:

Costa Amalfitana, Itália! Linda demais! (Amalfi Coast, Italy! So beautiful!).

Se estiver na Itália, vale a pena alugar um carro nem que seja só para conhecer a maravilhosa Costa Amalfitana ou Costa Amalfi, um dos trechos mais belos desta costa litorânea abençoada pelo azul turquesa do mar Tirreno na Província de Salermo, na Região da Campania, que engloba as pequenas cidades de Vietri Sul Mare, Cetara, Tramonti, Maiori, Minori, Ravello, Scala, Atrani, Amalfi, Conca dei Marini, Furore, Praiano e Positano, considerada Patrimonio Mundial da Humanidade pela UNESCO em 1977, esta estrada que começou a ser construída em 1832 e concluída em 1850.
Anote estas dicas e sinta-se fazendo parte do filme "Sob o sol da Toscana" que teve este paraíso como cenário:

A encantadora cidade de Sorrento distante 19km da Costa Amalfitana, é uma ótima opção, além de muitos atrativos é de lá que saem os barcos para a Ilha de Capri, já descrita aqui no blog.

2. ONDE COMER:
Nas cidades de Positano e Praiano possuem ótimos restaurantes, com vista para a paisagem de tirar o fôlego da Costa Amalfitana, mas não deixe de parar o carro nos acostamentos para comprar as deliciosas frutas, pesadas em antigas balanças pelos vendedores locais.

3. PRAIAS:
Para os amantes do bronzeado, leve seu traje de banho, pois na cidade de Positano têm as praias Marina Grande e Fornillo, já em Amalfi têm a praia Duoglio.

4. ATENÇÃO MOTORISTAS:
Nesta paisagem de tirar o fôlego a atenção têm que ser redobrada, pois a estrada é muito estreita com muitas curvas e túneis. PARA DIRIGIR NA ITÁLIA É OBRIGATÓRIO A CARTEIRA DE MOTORISTA INTERNACIONAL.

If you are visiting Italy,  rent a car for just one day only to drive on the magnificent Amalfi Coast, a beautiful coastal road which began to be built in 1832 and finished in 1850, this fabulous region blessed by a turquoise blue from the Tirreno's sea. Located in Salermo Province, in the Campania's region which houses the little cities of Vietri Sul Mare, Cetara, Tramonti, Maiori, Minori, Scala, Atrani, Amalfi, Conca del Marini, Furore, Praiano and Positano, and was considered a Human World Heritage by UNESCO in 1977.

The cities of Positano and Praiano have good restaurants on the coast with a breathtaking view, but don't miss to stop the car on the road side to buy delicious fruits weighed in an old fashioned scales by the local vendors.

3. BEACH PLACES:
For the suntan lovers, just bring your bathing suit to enjoy the  beaches of Marina Grande and Fornillo in Positano, or Duoglio beach in Amalfi.

4. DRIVES WARNING:
In this magnificent scnery be very carefully with this so narrow road full of curves and tunnels. TO DRIVE IN ITALY YOU MUST HAVE AN INTERNATIONAL DRIVES LICENSE.

Theatro Municipal, Rio de Janeiro! Lindo e cheio de história! (Municipal Theatre, Brazil! Beautiful and full of history!).

Um passeio cultural bacana para quem estiver visitando o Rio de Janeiro ou até mesmo para os moradores, é a "visita guiada" ao THEATRO MUNICIPAL (Praça Floriano, Centro), um dos mais belos prédios da cidade, e também a principal casa de espetáculos do Brasil. Herança do prefeito engenheiro Francisco  Pereira Passos (1836-1913), com projeto  do seu filho o arquiteto Francisco de Oliveira Passos, inspirado no Ópera de Paris, com construção iniciada em 1904, sendo inaugurado em 14/7/1909 no governo do prefeito Souza Aguiar. Nesta área de 4220 metros quadrados e capacidade para 2375 espectadores, só com esta visita você vai ter acesso à áreas restritas e saber fatos curiosos como estes:
- O primeiro ar-condicionado do Brasil foi instalado no teatro, no ano da inauguração.
- Têm um magnifico restaurante no andar térreo com decoração egípcia, que funcionou até à década de 1990.
- O banheiro masculino do andar inferior ainda preserva os mictórios originais trazidos da Inglaterra.
- Pode apreciar com calma as belissimas obras de arte de Henrique Bernadelli e Rodolfo Amoedo e também as pinturas do italiano Eliseu Visconti.
- Ver em detalhes as 200 mil peças de vidro que formam os 25 belos conjuntos de vitrais do alemão Conrado Sorgenicht (1869-1935).

De metrô, descendo na estação Cinelândia.

2. HORÁRIOS:
Têm 5 horários diários nos dias de semana,  com guia em português, sendo o das 14h guia em inglês, e 3 horários aos sábados. Duração por volta de 45 minutos, e ingressos a R$20,00.

3. DICAS:
Lembrando que para as apresentações não é permitido entrar com shorts ou bermudas.
Aos domingos às 11:00h têm apresentações ao custo de 1 real, ou seja, oportunidade para todos.

If you are visiting Rio de Janeiro a cool cultural tour to spending your time is in a tour guided in the MUNICIPAL THEATRE (Floriano Square, Downtown), one of the most city's beautiful building, and also the main house's concerts presentations in Brazil. Haia, Holanda! A encantadora cidade da realeza! (The Hague, Netherlands! The enchanted city of the royals!).

Haia, Den Haag em holandês, é a sede real da monarquia localizada na província da Holanda do Sul, distante 60km de Amsterdam, que pela constituição é a capital oficial. Com população de 500.000 habitantes, é a terceira maior cidade dos Paises Baixos, como também é conhecida a Holanda. Com grande tradição diplomática, pois lá aconteceram em 1899 e 1907 as Conferências de Haia, também 4 tribunais internacionais estão sediados na cidade.
Anote estas dicas, e se estiver visitando a Holanda não deixe de conhecer esta cidade encantadora, sem a esperada austeridade:

1. COMO CHEGAR:
Em Amsterdam na Estação Central, pegue o trem que em menos de 40 minutos vai te deixar na Estação Central de Haia, com serviço de qualidade e muitas  opções de horários.

2. O QUE VER:
A dez minutos a pé da Estação Central de trem está o prédio histórico MAURITSHUIS localizado em frente ao lago no centro da cidade, que no passado foi a casa do conde e depois príncipe Johann Moritz of Nassau-Siegen (1604-1679), para nós Mauricio de Nassau, que foi o governador holandês de  Pernambuco. Hoje a casa transformada  em museu, abriga quadros  famosos como a espetacular obra prima da "Era de Ouro" holandesa, "Moça com brinco de pérola", do pintor holandês  Johaness Vermeer (1632-1675).

3. O QUE FAZER:
- Visitar o belissimo PALÁCIO DA PAZ sede do Tribunal Internacional da Justiça, órgão judicial da ONU.
- Pegue o TRAM (VLT holandês) que leva 15 minutos até o boulevard  de SCHEVENINGEN que é a praia de Haia. Com 2km de orla, cheio de lojas, restaurantes, bares, barraquinhas vendendo os típicos sanduiches de arenque, casinos, salas de cinema e também um pier com saltos de "bungee jumping" para os fans de emoções fortes.

The Hague is the seat of the royal monarchy, located in the province of the South Netherlands. Distant 60km from Amsterdam, which is considered the official capital by the  constitution. With 500.000 inhabitants is the Netherlands third biggest city. With a strong diplomacy tradition, there happened The Hague Conference in 1899 and 1907, and the city also houses 4 internationals courts.
Take a note of the following tips, and if you are visiting Netherlands don't miss the opportunity to visit this enchanted city:

1. HOW TO ARRIVE:
In Amsterdam's Central Station, take a train that in less than 40 minutes will arrive at The Hague's Central Station.The train offers good services and frequently time options.

2. WHAT TO SEE:
After 10 minutes on foot from the Central Station you'll find the historical building MAURITSHUIS, located in the city's downtown in front of the lake, which in the past was a house of a Count and later a Prince Johann Moritz of Nassau-Siegen (1604-1679), known as Mauricio de Nassau when was the Dutch's governor in Pernambuco, Brazil. Nowadays the house became a museum housing famous paints like the fabulous master piece from the Netherlands Golden Era, "Girl with a pearl earring" from the Dutch's painter Johanness Vermeer (1632-1675).

3. WHAT TO DO:
- Visit the amazing PALACE OF PEACE housing the International Court of the Hague Justice Organization of  the United Nations.
- Take the TRAM DUCS to arrive in the boulevard of SCHEVENINGEM which is The Hague's beach place. Strolling on its 2km shore plenty of stores, bars, food stalls selling the traditional herring fish sandwiches, casinos and cinemas. For the fans of a radical sports  there is also a pier with a "bungee jumping".

Valparaíso, Chile! Um colorido museu à céu aberto! (Valparaiso, Chile! A colorful open air museum!).

Distante 144km de Santiago, capital do Chile, está Valparaiso, importante cidade portuária do Pacifico de 300.000 habitantes. Pode ser visitada em 1 dia,  junto com a sua vizinha Viña del Mar já  descrita aqui no blog. Valparaíso que têm o turismo muito forte, desde 2011 quando o governo iniciou um projeto de urbanização, o Plan Rumbo, restaurando prédios e pavimentando ruas e calçadas, quando  transformou a cidade num verdadeiro museu à céu aberto, com as casas  pintadas em tons vivos que começaram a ganhar grafites que proliferaram em uma verdadeira exposição de arte urbana. Para percorrer os muitos morros "cerros" existentes, os calçados  confortáveis para aguentar as muitas ladeiras são benvindos.. Quando visitando as casas coloridas de CERRO ALEGRE caminhe perdido no tempo pelas ruelas com seus bares, restaurantes e lojinhas de artesanato, tudo num clima bucólico, que vai constratar quando pegar os elevadores para descer até o agito do cais do porto, o principal porto do país, e declarado Patrimônio da Humanidade pela UNESCO, que também têm passeios de barco disponíveis pela baía de Valparaiso. Já no Cerro Flórida, vai estar a inconfundível "La Sebastiana" casa de  Pablo Neruda (1904-1973), este grande poeta Chileno, um dos mais importantes do seculo XX, ganhador do Prêmio Nobel de Literatura, e cônsul do Chile, na Espanha e no Mexico (1934-1938).
Se o tempo permitir também poderá visitar o Museu Municipal de Belas Artes, e o Museu de História Natural, mas andar pelas ruas de uma cidade que as paredes de suas casas estão cobertas de arte, já vale e muito o passeio.

Viva as cores vivas de Valparaiso!

Chile's main important port city Valparaiso with 300.000 inhabitants is far 144km from the capital Santiago. Located on the Pacific coast, could be visited in 1 day together with the another beautiful neighbor city Viña del Mar, once described on this blog. The tourism became strong in Valparaiso when in 2011 the government began an urban project called "Plan Rumbo", paving streets and sidewalks and painting the buildings, transforming the place in a huge open air museum with its picturesque and colored houses. To strolling the many hills "cerros" there, flat shoes are welcomed. When visiting the multicolored neighborhood of CERRO ALEGRE, walking lost in time on its little streets housing bars, restaurants and little souvenirs stores, everything so bucolic, contrasting when you'll take one of the city elevators to go down to the main port and also UNESCO World Heritage Site. Boat tours around the Valparaiso's bay are available. In CERRO FLORIDA, you'll find "La Sebastiana", the  house museum of Pablo Neruda (1904-1973), the Chilean's poet, one of the most important of the 20th century, and Nobel prize-winning, who was also Consul of Chile in Spain and Mexico (1934-1938). Also the city houses an Art Museum, and a Natural History Museum, but strolling in a city where the streets and houses are covered of art is more than enough.
